IBS 2016: B.L. Rieke’s Honorable Mentions

The B.L. Rieke Design Team took their annual trip to the 2016 International Builders' Show (IBS) and the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vega, Nevada that ran from January 19th to the 21st.  While exploring the showroom floor, they looked for IBS vendors with the newest, coolest, and most cutting-edge products available.  By the end of the three-day Vegas convention, the Team discovered many new products to potentially add to their custom home building arsenal back in Kansas City.

The following vendors and products are some of B.L. Rieke's "Honorable Mentions" from the 2016 excursion.

IBS Honorable Mentions - Products:

The purpose of this refrigeration appliance is all in the name: it keeps foods "fresh" for a long time.  By using climate and temperature controlled compartments, the freshness of different types of produce and meat can be maximized, saving homeowners money and trips to the grocery store.

This brand new collection of plumbing fixtures features angular designs inspired by the sleek silhouettes of mid-century airplanes and automobiles.  The other new Brizo products of 2016 are also striking, particularly the Jason Wu and Rook Bath collections.

The "Brittanicca" quartz counter top design is a beautiful array of shades of grey and white.  The wavy veins of grey that run against a white background actually resemble the luxury of marble.  This design fits in perfectly with the popular "white kitchen" trend, as well.

These aluminum wall pins are perfect for homeowners with contemporary or minimalist tastes.  They allow homeowners to store and display their favorite wines in a stylish manner.  Vino Pins can be installed on any wall and in any configuration of the homeowner's choosing.

IBS Honorable Mentions - Vendors:

This "Best of KBIS 2013" winner is still winning with their innovative in-cabinet wine racks.  The horizontal, three-tiered wooden racks are high-quality and are "easily installed (or removed)...in minutes."  The under-the-counter design reduces bottle clutter and helps preserve the life of the wine, too.

Visually speaking, some of the "coolest" things at the IBS were the intricate, highly-detailed 3D models printed by the Whiteclouds company.  The architectural models are to scale and can be printed with as much detail and color as the clients wants.  Many types of projects, like housing developments, home interiors, and landscapes, can be printed using this new technology.

As an award-winning 2016 KBIS vendor, the Coastal Shower Doors company has built a nationwide reputation for building high-quality shower doors and bath enclosures.  They manufacture everything from basic bypass doors to specialty shower doors.  Their specialty doors include unique curved doors and "grid" designs.

The residential products made by this company are geared toward dynamic kitchen environments.  The attractive counter tops, kitchen carts, and cutting boards (manufactured in-house) are made of wood and metal materials, which are all topped with butcher blocks.  These multi-functional tops are known for their durability, resilience, and natural beauty--perfect for homeowners with a love for cooking.

The B.L. Rieke team is looking forward to possibly using these products and vendors in future projects in order to stay at the cutting-edge of innovation and quality in the Kansas City market.  The Design Team is especially looking forward to the 2017 IBS and KBIS in sunny Orlando next January!
